New to Ashtanga or mysore practice? This beginner-friendly course makes the transition easy.
Learn the traditional mysore method in a small group (max 4 students) over 4 weeks, 3x per week. Build your foundation in the fundamentals of Ashtanga Vinyasa Yoga including:
- Surya Namaskar & primary series foundations
- Breath awareness & concentration skills
- Standing, balancing & seated postures
Perfect for absolute beginners, those transitioning from led classes, or experienced practitioners rebuilding after time away.
Schedule: Mon/Wed* 8:00 + Fri 17:00 with the option to join mysore practice on Sundays during the course
*Thursday, July 30 is scheduled in place of Wednesday, July 29

Lana
Lana is the owner of The Breathing Space, head of the Mysore program, and lead teacher of the studio’s teacher training. Her teaching is breath-centered and adaptive, grounded in the clarity of the Ashtanga tradition. With a background in dance, neuroscience, and osteopathy, she weaves scientific understanding with embodied experience. Practicing since 1998 and teaching since 2006, Lana offers clear and compassionate guidance shaped by decades of study, personal practice, and her lived experience with muscular dystrophy.
Sya
From the moment I walked into the mysore room, yoga has been a part of my daily life. First drawn to the physical aspect of the practice, I soon realized it has so much more to offer. It has become a practice in self exploration, both on and off the mat, that is constantly evolving. It is also my anchor to stay grounded while working as a PhD candidate in environmental sciences. Even though yoga is an individual practice, for me it is also about community and connection. I feel very lucky to be part of The Breathing Space community, both as a student and as a teacher.
