OSTEOTHAI FOR THE BREATHING PROCESS
Expansion & Retraction motion for a better homeostasis

If our patients breathe properly, they live well. Blood and energy move. Health is
present! 

The breathing process is a mechanism bringing together the
respiratory, neurological, cardiovascular, visceral, musculoskeletal and psychic
systems. It is a link between our physical, emotional and mental states.
Using dynamic and static techniques to approach the ribcage, the different
diaphragms and the shoulder joint, it is possible to restore vitality and mobility in
the chest and thoracic areas, in order to increase the fluids circulation and
release tensions and emotions.
In this 5-day course, we will focus on :

• THE RIBCAGEhow to approach the ribcage, the thoracic spine and the sternum withdynamic techniques coming from Thai massage and osteopathy (generaltreatment, oscillatory techniques, recoil and impulse, advancedstretching…)
• LUNGS AND HEART : THE 3 CYLINDERSthe interdependence between structure and function brings our attentionto our 3 inner cylinders : the lungs and the heart. What can we do toincrease lungs function?
• OUR HORIZONTAL AXIS : THE DIAPHRAGMSthe diaphragms separate the body into different cavities. A specialattention will be brought to them to balance the pressure system and allowa good 3-D expansion-retraction motion within the ribcage
• THE SHOULDER COMPLEX AND ITS LINK WITH THE NECKhow to free the shoulder complex (glenohumeral joint, scapula, clavicula).This joint is fully integrated into the ribcage and hence linked to thebreathing process.
• THE PRIMARY RESPIRATORY MOVEMENTLet’s discover a new world and restore vitality! A world where we can feelbut not see movement! Developing our Being principles and the sensitivityof our hands, we will deepen our touch and knowledge into the fascia andcraniosacral system.

ABOUT DAVID LUTT:
David Lutt is a licensed osteopath combining his expertise and love of osteopathy, Thai-yoga massage and zen shiatsu. He is the co-founder of Osteothai and initiator of Dynamic Thai Massage. David is also titular of an University degree in “Philosophy of Osteopathy” (UCLY – Université Catholique de Lyon).He’s spent 4 years living in Asia (India and Thailand) immersing himself in yoga, shiatsu, Vipassana meditation and traditional Thai massage. In Thailand, he studied mainly under Asokananda and Ajahn Chaiyuth Priyasith, who was and is still his real inspiration.In France, he always keeps on going with passion on his osteopathic path, inspired by the work of Pierre Tricot, Joerg Schuerpf, Bruno Ducoux and Bernard Darraillans.
He runs Thai massage and Osteothai courses all over the world, including Thailand and Japan. And his love for movement, rhythm and fluidity makes him enjoy capoeira, freediving and… football!
