ABOUT THE COURSE

Almost 60% of our patients come to see us with a pathology related to lower back pain. In this area of the Central channel are the spine, the meninges, the cerebrospinal fluid, the nervous system. Here are also Sushumna, Ittha and Pinkhala meridian lines in Thai massage. They all converge to serve the different levels of human functions. During this Osteothai course we will bring a special focus on the spine and mainly the lower back area in order to help vertebrae mobility, restore vitality and bring back ease of movement.

In this 5-day course, we will focus on:

• OSTEOTHAI ROUTINE FOR CHRONIC LOWER BACK PAINhow to approach and release the main “trouble-maker” muscles related to lower back pain (psoas, piriformis, quadratus lumborum, tensor fascia lata, gluteus muscles) in Thai massage and with the Osteothai concept.
• THE BONY STRUCTURE : SACROILIAC JOINT AND SPINElet’s restore the sacroiliac joint mobility and spine rhythm with the Osteopathic General Treatment.
• CRANIO-SACRAL SYSTEM AND THE CORE LINKspecial attention will be brought to C0-C1-C2 and L5-S1 with soft and fascia techniques. Learn about the “pearl necklace” concept.
• HARA WORKtreating the lower back through the belly. Fascia reharmonisation, ) working on the anterior part of the body (the hara and internal organs) can help lower back pain.
• ACUTE PAIN vs CHRONIC PAINhow to approach patient with acute pain. What are the main back pathologies in our treatment (slipped disc, hernia, sciatica problem…). Things to do and not be done to stay on the safe side!

Pre-requisite : – minimum a 10-day Beginner Thai Massage– a minimum of 2 years of practice

ABOUT DAVID LUTT:
David Lutt is a licensed osteopath combining his expertise and love of osteopathy, Thai-yoga massage and zen shiatsu. He is the co-founder of Osteothai and initiator of Dynamic Thai Massage. David is also titular of an University degree in “Philosophy of Osteopathy” (UCLY – Université Catholique de Lyon).He’s spent 4 years living in Asia (India and Thailand) immersing himself in yoga, shiatsu, Vipassana meditation and traditional Thai massage. In Thailand, he studied mainly under Asokananda and Ajahn Chaiyuth Priyasith, who was and is still his real inspiration.In France, he always keeps on going with passion on his osteopathic path, inspired by the work of Pierre Tricot, Joerg Schuerpf, Bruno Ducoux and Bernard Darraillans.
He runs Thai massage and Osteothai courses all over the world, including Thailand and Japan. And his love for movement, rhythm and fluidity makes him enjoy capoeira, freediving and… football!
