Yoga in a Therapeutic Context (20hr YACEP)

Understand and apply yogic tools in a therapeutic context to effectively and responsibly support your own or your students’/clients’ physical and mental healthchallenges. A module that aims to equip serious yoga students, (aspiring) yoga teachers as well as and health and wellbeing professionals to adapt their own yoga practice through different life stages and challenges, support your community’s specific needs, and add additional value to their 1-to-1 yoga offering.

What To Expect

This 20-hour in-person professional development module is designed for serious yoga students, (aspiring and already certified) yoga teachers as well as and health and wellbeing professionals who are looking to learn new skillset or apply already existing ones in a new context. 

Participants will cover and learn main concepts of IAYT’s* Yoga Therapy as well as identify how to apply them in the most common physical and mental health challenges present in our society e.g. depression, anxiety, sleep disorders, lower back issues, endometriosis, osteoporosis, high-blood pressure, diabetes, MS, cancer, etc.  To integrate the learnings, we will practice on real-life and mock case studies whereby you will develop a personalized practice sheet for yourself or clients with certain conditions.

After the module, my aim is for you to be able to analyze clients; body and breath tendencies accurately, recognize what yoga therapy strategy to apply to which client (or group of clients) based on the presenting health condition/challenge, and create/design a supporting yoga practice.
