In Aṣṭaṅga Yoga, Prāṇāyāma - the fourth limb after āsana - is the art of harnessing the life force. This ancient science of breath is a key to calming the mind and preparing for deeper states of consciousness. Laying the foundation for a strong practice, proper preparation is essential.
In this masterclass, you’ll explore how to delve deeper with the breath as the guide and build up your Prāṇāyāma practice in the traditional way with stability and comfort. The session begins with an enlivening practice, followed by purificatory kriyā-s to ready the mind and body. Practiced with focus and devotion, it naturally leads to deeper silence, peace, and the heart of yoga: meditation.
Open to all levels, though some prior experience with breath practices is recommended.
