We all have an inner critic, a little voice in our head that tells us that we're not good enough, wrong, boring and so on. Our inner critic turns us into control freaks, people pleasers or procrastinators - the opposite of what we need to live a creative, productive and fulfilling life.

The good news: the better you know your inner critic, the easier it is to overcome it. In this week’s WOMEN’S HUB Love Session Online-Exclusive, Arjanna, our Sister in Zurich, will share easy tools to overcome your inner critic and feel more confident, creative and content.

About Arjanna

Arjanna van der Plas was born and raised in the Netherlands. When her husband proposed to move to San Francisco so he could pursue his tech career, the inner critics in her head went nuts. ‘Why would you leave your amazing career in sustainability, friends and family behind to become a trailing spouse?’, they screamed at her. After working with her coach on overcoming these inner critic voices, she saw that moving to San Francisco was a wonderful opportunity to explore her identity.

In San Francisco, she transformed from city girl to nature lover, became a certified coach and yoga teacher, taught at UC Berkeley, wrote a book with 100 stories of homeless people and birthed two beautiful girls. She now dares to say that moving to San Francisco might have been more enlightening for her than for her husband ;)

Now, back on European soil in Zurich since early 2020, she works as a leadership coach and founded WOMEN’S HUB Zurich together with Nele Clüver.
